  • Its business programs are accredited by the AACSB International: the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
  • Its program in social work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
  • Its nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
  • Its program in education is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board (PEQAB), and Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
  • The department of chemistry has the approval of the American Chemical Society.
  • The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA).
  • The university holds membership in the American Council on Education, the Association of University Evening Colleges, the College Entrance Examination Board, the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities, the Council of Graduate Studies in the United States, the Middle Atlantic Association of Colleges of Business Administration, the American Library Association, and other organizations.

All degrees awarded by the university are authorized by the regents and registered with the New York State Education Department. Enrollment in other than registered or otherwise approved programs may jeopardize a student’s eligibility for certain student aid awards.

National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement

Niagara University participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. Participation in SARA represents an agreement to maintain comparable standards for online education among member states, districts, and territories. As such, participating in SARA provides Niagara University with authorization to provide postsecondary distance education to students in other states and territories covered by the agreement.

Niagara University strives to provide a high-quality educational experience across all of our programs. Should a concern arise, online students should follow the standard university procedure for resolving grievances as outlined in the university’s student grievance procedures. If a resolution is not met by following the university’s established grievance process, online students who reside outside of New York state may file a complaint with the New York State Education Department as outlined here or via the SARA complaint process within two years of the incident about which the complaint is made. Please note that complaints regarding grade appeals or student conduct do not fall under the purview of SARA.

National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement

Graduate Programs

All graduate programs at Niagara University are accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

These programs are registered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York to confer the degrees listed under the degree program section.

In addition:

  • The MBA program is accredited by AACSB International. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business are accredited by the Council of the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
  • The Clinical Mental Health program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation for Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
  • The Graduate Division of Education has Ministerial Consent to offer the post-baccalaureate (B.P.S.) and graduate education program (Educational Leadership) at selected sites in the province of Ontario, Canada, from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
