Psychiatric Nurse Mental Health Practitioner, M.S.
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program prepares advanced practice registered nurses to provide comprehensive mental health care across the lifespan, emphasizing the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric conditions and co‑occurring physical health issues. The curriculum is delivered online and includes a 780‑hour clinical practicum.
Program Requirements
All admitted graduate nursing students are required to have a/an:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
2. Overall undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or higher
3. Current, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse (RN)
4. Mandated child abuse and infection control education certificates of completion
5. Current CPR card, which must include a psychomotor (hands on) skill component
6. Proficiency in the English language
7. Physical and proof of vaccinations within the past one year
One year of professional nursing practice prior to commencing the PMHNP program is preferred.
